Since Serving in Unsilence is operated by an active-duty gay Service Member (”Anonymous Soldier”), the need for confidentiality regarding your identity is very well understood. Keeping that in mind, I have arranged to have payments handled by a gay-friendly third party in order to maintain a buffer of plausible deniability. This third party was the host for the original “Army of 1 in 10″ blog for over a year, and they have been great when it came to maintaining my own anonymity. Even though Serving in Unsilence was too ambitious a project for their capabilities, they continued to assist with getting it set up — despite the fact that they’d be losing me as a web-hosted customer. I have complete confidence in their willingness to keep the Paypal transactions private because they believe that all qualified persons ought to be able to serve.
